Time to talk trails
Brimbank and Melton residents are being invited to have their say about the western suburbs’ shared cycling and walking paths at a drop-in session this Sunday. The West Trails project is a strategic review of shared trails across local government areas including Brimbank, Melton, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Moonee Valley and Wyndham. . The drop-in session is at Hannah Watts Park, Melton, at 9am. Residents unable to attend the session can complete a short, confidential questionnaire at www.west-trails.com.
Seniors celebrate
Older residents are being invited to join in this year’s Brimbank Seniors Festival (October 6 to 10). Events will include a dance, a bus trip to the Cuckoo restaurant in Olinda, Overnewton Castle tours and a morning tea. Holiday fun a good fit
Brimbank council is offering parents a cheap and healthy program to keep children busy during the September school holidays. For a gold coin donation, parents with children aged five to 12 can send them to Brimbank Active Kids. Children can take part in recreational and craft activities at four locations: two each in Sunshine and St Albans. Spaces are limited to 40 children per site. To register, phone 9249 4665.
