Across two weekends in November, Brimbank locals are encouraged to hit the streets in search of pre-loved bargains.

The Garage Sale Trail is Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff, taking place on November 11-12, and 18-19. The weekends are set to feature garage sales happening across Brimbank, and is a chance for locals to turn their stash into cash or for others to shop their pre-loved items at retro prices.

Brimbank residents will have the opportunity to join the neighbourhood treasure hunt in the search for a bargain and practice recycling at the same time.

Sales are set to spring up across Brimbank, including at the West Sunshine Community Centre on Saturday, November 18, which will be packed with more than 300 items from 30 stalls, in a group garage sale from 10am-2pm.

The Garage Sale Trail helps neighbours connect, make some money and keep their good stuff out of landfill. Selling or shopping at garage sales is a fun and simple action locals can take to reduce their impact on the environment.

As part of its commitment to creating a circular economy, Brimbank council has opened up free registrations that include how-to guides and promotional resources to help out those who are keen on hosting their own sale
