A new sports pavilion and major upgrades to the community sports pavilion facilities at Taylors Hill Recreation Reserve was officially opened on Friday, August 18.
The pavilion increases capacity at the recreation reserve to meet the growing participation needs of community sporting clubs and is a welcomed addition to the community.
The $2.8 million upgrades created a new 130m2 social space including a kitchen and change rooms to support the three soccer fields concurrently playing in peak season.
Melton mayor Lara Carli said that as Melton grows, spaces for communities to come together become more important, more in-demand and with more varied needs.
“We are committed to delivering quality sports and recreation facilities like this pavilion that meet our increasing demand in our fast-growing community,” she said.
“Players and spectators alike now have access to a modern sports pavilion which is fully compliant with sports standards.”
