Brimbank council has opened nominations for the 2023 We Are Brimbank Awards.
The We Are Brimbank Awards recognise the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of businesses, groups, social enterprises and organisations that make a positive contribution within Brimbank.
Locals are encouraged to nominate a project, organisation or community group that deserves to be recognised
There are five categories open for nomination:
– Arts, Culture or Tourism Award, which recognises organisations and groups that have raised the profile of Brimbank’s art and culture community, or tourism in Brimbank.
– Community Engagement Award, which recognises organisations and groups with remarkable projects or events that have made a significant contribution towards fostering a welcoming, engaging, and interconnected community.
– Environment or Sustainability Award, which recognises organisations and groups that have made contributions towards enhancing the natural environment of Brimbank and/or promoting environmental sustainability within the Brimbank community.
– Innovation Award, which recognises organisations and groups that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate leadership and commitment to business innovation through innovative ways of working. This acknowledges and celebrates sole traders, groups, businesses, social enterprises and organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate leadership and commitment to business innovation through innovative ways of working, and/or created something unique to the marketplace.
– Learning Excellence Award, which recognises organisations and groups that have made a significant contribution to the ongoing education, learning and engagement of the Brimbank community.
Brimbank mayor Bruce Lancashire said these nominations will help council recognise the wonderful contributions made within the community.
“These awards are a great way to pay tribute to the groups and organisations who are making a positive difference to Brimbank,” he said.
Nominations can be made online till midnight on Sunday, September 10.
A panel of judges will assess the nominations and select finalists. The winners of the We Are Brimbank Awards will be announced at a special presentation event on Thursday, October 26.
