Drugs and weapons seized in St Albans

Ten people have been charged after police executed two search warrants in St Albans on Tuesday.

The search warrants were executed shortly after 8am at properties in Percy Street and Rosslare Parade, St Albans as part of an investigation into alleged drug activity.

Drugs were seized, including heroin, methamphetamine, ketamine, prescription medication as well as a quantity of cash and prohibited weapons including a taser and stolen registration plates.

Two St Albans men aged 58 and 43 were both charged with possessing drug of dependence and both bailed to the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court in November.

A 57-year-old Albion man was arrested on outstanding warrants and bailed to reappear in court in August, while a 32-year-old St Albans man was charged with possess a drug of dependence and weapons offences and has been remanded.

A 37-year-old Sunshine West man was arrested on warrant and bailed, while a 34-year-old Braybrook man was charged with theft and obtain property by deception. and remains in custody.

A 47-year-old Heidelberg West, a 46-year-old Sunbury man,, a 52-year-old Reservoir man and a 44-year-old Mitcham man were also charged.

A 51-year-old St Albans woman was arrested and is expected to be charged on summons with drug and weapons offences.
