A sergeant from north-west metro region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 32-year-old woman has been charged with unlawful assault and offensive behaviour.
The charges relate to an alleged incident in Coldstream on February 10, while the member was off duty.
The officer has been summonsed to appear before court at a later date.
