The Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre has ticked off a new milestone, and the community was at the heart of the celebrations.

On Friday, June 9, the centre welcomed their one millionth visitor since the opening of the facility in September 2022.

Leading up to the milestone, the aquatic centre put the call out to the community promising a free 12-month Brimbank Leisure membership to the lucky millionth visitor.

As community member Effie strolled through the doors on that Friday, the aquatic centre made good on their promise.

In celebration of the significant occasion, Effie was showered with confetti and awarded a complimentary 12-month full access membership to continue enjoying the centre.

Effie has been a member of the centre dating back to 2007 at the old St Albans Leisure Centre. Effie has enjoyed visiting the aquatic centre and forming meaningful connections with the staff and fellow members.

Brimbank mayor Cr Bruce Lancashire gave his congratulations to Effie, noting the milestone moment.

“This is a significant milestone, considering Brimbank City Council opened the doors just nine months ago,” he said.

“It’s fantastic to see so many people enjoying the facilities and the associated health, recreation and social benefits.”
