A new wave of swim instructors is being sought by Brimbank council.
Council is recruiting swim teachers for the Brimbank Aquatic Wellness Centre and its other pools, as part of the state government’s Next Wave Program
The program aims to create hundreds of swim teacher roles, with the government funding 12-month entry level positions with the expectation leisure facilities retain staff after the 12 months.
Since opening Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre on September 12,2022, council has employed 62 swimming instructors.
“There is a big demand for swim coaches across Victoria at the moment, including Brimbank. There is support available if you’re looking for education, training or employment opportunities in the fitness and leisure space.” Brimbank mayor Bruce Lancashire said.
“To help meet demand Brimbank is working closely with Sport and Recreation Victoria to support training and upskilling. So it’s a great time to join our leisure and facilities at the newly opened Brimbank Aquatic Wellness Centre, or other pools or facilities in council.”
