Keilor Thunder has announced its second import for the National Basketball League 1 South men’s season.

The Thunder announced that Evan Wardlow would be making the journey from America to join the Thunder.

“Evan is a 6’5 guard from California, USA,” the Thunder said on social media.

“Evan had a successful college career which saw him graduate from NCAA D1 Santa Clara and then obtain his Masters Degree from NCAA D2 California State Eastbay.

“Evan has most recently been playing professionally in Croatia.

“Evan comes to the Thunder with great feedback from his previous coaches and we are confident Evan will bring winning habits to our program on the offensive and defensive ends.”

In Croatia, Wardlow was playing with KK Stoja Pula where he had played five games averaging 15.4 points a game.

He had previously played with KK Pula 1981 in Druga Liga, averaging nine points per game.

Wardlow joins Will Jenkins in joining the club.

Jenkins most recently played in Luxembourg where he averaged 23 points at 50 per cent, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block per game.

Cirkook ‘Shaq’ Riak returns for the Thunder’s second season in the NBL1 competition and Ollie Hayes Brown is joining the Thunder.

He had a decorated college career at UC Riverside before returning home and signing with the Perth Wildcats.

Hayes Brown has been a development player with the Perth Wildcats for the last two seasons.

Meanwhile, former Thunder import Jacob Lampkin is headed to Mount Gambier.

Lampkin, who was one of the standouts for the Thunder last season, will play against the Thunder this season with the two teams in the same competition.

Mt Gambier coach Richard Hill said Lampkin slipped under the radar a bit last season and was one of the premier big men in the competition.
