Three new green spaces in Brimbank were officially opened for the community to enjoy.
A new pocket park in Cary Street, North Sunshine and Leslie Street, St Albans were both opened along with the upgraded Keilor Park Recreation Reserve.
On December 10, community members gathered with local traders, council staff, state government officials, to enjoy the new green spaces and admire the transformed streetscapes.
The Pocket parks feature landscaping, built-in seating and shade, and have been planted with a variety of attractive trees, shrubs and flowers.
The design and construction of these parks was enabled by $2.27 million received in grants as part of the state government’s suburban parks program.
The upgraded Keilor Park Recreation Reserve offers more recreation and exercise options.
The works include a new playground with activities for all age groups and abilities including water play, a new shelter, BBQ, drinking fountain, full basketball/half netball court, toilet, ninja warrior course and new exercise gym equipment.
Brimbank council and both the state and federal governments funded the upgrades at the Keilor Park reserve.
