Melbourne Cup eve at the Melbourne Greyhounds

Family fun is back this Melbourne Cup eve at the Melbourne Greyhounds in Broadmeadows.

The first Tuesday in November gifts us a wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends to watch the ‘race that stops the nation.’ It also offers the chance to roll into that Tuesday with some Melbourne Cup eve celebrations.

If you’re looking to do just that, The Melbourne Greyhounds is the place. Melbourne Cup eve is ‘Family Night at The Meadows’ and for those who’ve never attended before, cup eve at The Meadows is a signature event.

The Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association’s Meadows team really know how put on a family night, with a great children’s focus. This year will have a Frankenstein feel, as they bring this monster event back to life, as it happens to fall on Monday, October 31 – Halloween!

So, what’s happening on family night at The Meadows? Heaps! Plotted around the grounds there’ll be a giant inflatable obstacle course, three massive jumping castles (each set aside for different age groups), face painting stand, a giant inflatable dart game and more. The Meadows trackside terrace area will be activated, allowing families to bring a picnic rug and chairs to set themselves up and watch the dogs zip past. This artificially turfed area is a brilliant space to relax in, especially in the twilight.

All track food and beverage facilities will be open and fairy floss and snow cone venders will be plying their trade. If family dining is important, The Meadows city view bistro will be open. Children’s meals are just $10. Offering great food, great city views and great entertainment it’s more than you’d expect when it comes to bistro dining – bookings are essential.

And it wouldn’t be a family night without freebies. This year there’s 200 free kids showbags to be handed out and the chance to win a Nintendo Switch and $50 gift vouchers in their GAP prize draw!

So, don’t forget to pop it in the calendar and let some friends know that there’s plenty of Melbourne Cup eve fun to share in at The Melbourne Greyhounds. Entry and car parking is free. Details: www.themeadows.org.au or 9355 5222.
