Deer Park tennis enthusiasts would soon have new lighting and a streamlined booking system, thanks to a state government commitment of more than $170,000 towards the Deer Park Tennis Club.
The $173,514 state government investment came through its Local Sports Infrastructure Fund towards installation of competition lighting and a “Book A Court” booking system so the broader community can access these facilities.
The state government 2022-23 budget provided an additional $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.
Since 2014, this Andrews Labor Government has invested more than $1.6 billion in community sport and recreation infrastructure.
Labor candidate for Kororoit Luba Grigorovitch said the funding would allow the Kororoit electorate to get more involved in local sport and recreation.
“Congratulations to Deer Park Tennis Club,” she said.
“It’s a great example of how this Andrews Labor Government is making sport and recreation more accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all Victorians.”
