University Park Primary School will receive $95,000 as a part of a Victorian Government “maintenance blitz”
Students and teachers at more than 100 Victorian schools will benefit as part of the Term 3 Planned Maintenance Program.
The program will see the schools share in $11.24 million of funding for the works to take place.
University Park Primary Andrea Federico said the money will go towards maintenance and upgrades including carpet refurbishment and roof cladding repairs for the St Albans school.
“I am excited about the prospect of being able to provide a stimulating learning environment for my staff and students,” she said.
The funding was made in addition $4.27 million provided and $28.4 million in funding allocated through the Term 2 Planned Maintenance Program to 47 schools.
The Term 1 Planned Maintenance Program also provided $5.84 million to 57 schools.
This funding also covers an ongoing program to inspect and repair or replace solar power systems across 737 school campuses.
Education Minister Natalie Hutchins said the state government’s “record investment” in school infrastructure is delivering high quality classrooms for hard-working principals, teachers and staff, as well as students and families.
“This program is about ensuring that every Victorian school is well maintained and safe to provide the best possible environment for students to learn in,” she said.
A Victorian Labor statement said in the past eight years, the Andrews Labor Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.
