Job support for women

Brimbank women wanting help to re-join the workforce are being encouraged to take part in a pilot program.

Council On the Ageing’s (COTA) Women Working Together pilot program aims to help women who have been out of the workforce for some time or are not getting enough work; could use some help gaining confidence and skills to apply for a job; or are looking for way to break down the barriers to finding employment.

You can join the program if you are:

– A female carer aged 50+ who is seeking support to help you to reskill and/or support to find sustainable paid work;

– Willing to participate in approximately three hours of facilitated induction training (face-to-face or online);

– Available two to four hours per month to meet up with your mentor for a minimum of six months; and

-Living in the north and western suburbs of Melbourne.

An information session will be held at Sydenham Community Hub Building, 101, level 1/1 Station Street, Taylors Lakes, on August 17m 9.30am-3pm.
