The Keilor Night market is set to make its return this Wednesday night after a brief winter hiatus.
Regularly taking place on the first Wednesday of each month at the Keilor Bowls club, the first market back will take place on Wednesday, August 3 between 6pm – 9pm.
Organisers, Prue Houston and Jodie Robinson have been busy working on the relaunch to come back better than ever.
Prue Houston advised there are around 35 local business taking part, “we’ve been so conscious in offering people a variety that’s really unique,
“We’ve got a lady that does her own spice mixes, which has been really successful, there’s a bit of a foodie component, beauty, giftware and there’s a fellow that does his own crafted resin and wooden chopping boards, so across the board there’s really something for everybody.”
Entry to the event is a gold coin donation, however the organisers donate 100% of proceeds to a different charity each month, “In the past, we’ve donated to the local primary school, the Horseshoe Bend Restoration Fund, the Breast Cancer Foundation and this month is the cure for brain cancer foundation,” Ms Houston said.
A unique aspect of the Keilor night market is thanks to its connection with the bowls club patrons are able to order a drink at the bar and browse the stalls whilst sipping, “we’re really committed to working with the Bowls Club, they’ve been really awesome by giving us an indoor space so we’re weather safe as well,” Ms Houston said.
Attendees asked to park at the community centre or football oval just down the road from the club so as to avoid congestion at the club itself.
