Energy Safe Victoria will be heavily focussing on regulation and compliance of renewable energies around Brimbank and Victoria in the 2022-23 financial year as their latest regulatory priorities have been released.
These priorities are released every twelve months by the ESV and four of the nine focus on renewable energy compliance, including new energy infrastructure, renewable energy generation, Hydrogen readiness and Battery energy storage systems. The remaining five priorities relate to bushfire mitigation focussing on Powerline maintenance and Vegetation clearance around powerlines and lastly Electrical and Gas safety, focussing on electrical work, gas (Type A) and electrical appliance safety and energy network strikes and encroachment.
The release of these compliance priorities stand to protect both people and property from potential risks these categories may cause.
ESV Commissioner and Chairperson Marnie Williams said, ““As Victoria’s energy safety regulator, ESV works to ensure electrical, gas and renewable energies are installed, maintained and used as safely as possible.
“Over the next 12 months, ESV will continue to focus on traditional energies while increasing its regulation of renewable energies as the use of more sustainable power sources grow.”
