Kingswim Derrimut is putting on a ‘Green & Gold’ week starting from Friday, July 29 for their 780 students to celebrate the opening of the Commonwealth Games. Kids will participate in their very own opening flag ceremony, a podium finish and medal ceremony.

Centre manager Teresa said the students are all too excited to partake as they will be following along with the actual Commonwealth games as well.

“It’s celebrating the milestones and achievements of all the swimmers, especially since they’ve missed out on that in the last two to three years,” said Teresa, who also stressed the importance of everyone learning to swim, “So we live in Australia with bodies of water all over and swimming isn’t just a recreation, it’s a life skill that these kids can develop over time.”
