The Victorian Government is inviting seniors in Brimbank to share their thoughts on government services, in what is the biggest project of its kind that seeks to examine seniors’ experiences across the community.
The Ageing Well Survey was launched on July,19 and will include questions regarding topics like wellbeing, ageism, digital inclusion, social connectedness, health and self-care, pandemic related experiences as well as provide input on support needed to better reconnect with their communities.
The survey will assist the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Colin Brooks to better advocate for Seniors in Victoria as part of the Ageing Well Action Plan (2022-2026)
“Seniors are an important and growing part of our community and this survey will ensure their voices are heard as we work to improve life for all older Victorians,” said Minister Brooks.
A previous report was conducted in 2020 that found eight particular themes to provide the best opportunity for senior Australians to age well, including respect, financial and personal security, health autonomy and mobility, and priority areas for action.
The survey will take approximately fifteen minutes to complete and is for residents aged 60 and over and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 and over.
Submissions will close on Sunday, 7 August.
