The local derby between Green Gully and the Melbourne Knights in the National Premier League was postponed. The two sides were meant to go head-to-head on Friday night, but due to extreme weather conditions it didn’t go ahead. Meanwhile, in NPL3 Doveton beat Western United 1–0. In the NPL women’s competition, Calder United’s match with Box Hill United will be rescheduled after not going ahead due to the weather.

Caroline Springs George Cross got a vital win against the Brimbank Stallions on Saturday in the FV state league 1 north-west competition. Having dropped the first match up between the two sides, the Georgies were keen to get the win and cement their lead at the top of the table. The Georgies scored twice in the first half, before scoring the sealer in the second, to win 3-0. Second-placed Sydenham Park’s match with Strathmore was washed out, while Keilor Park beat Yarraville Glory, 3-0.

Caroline Springs suffered its first loss of the Western Region Football League division 1 season on Saturday against Altona. The Lakers led by 18 points at half, before trailing by two points at the last break. They were kept goal less in the last quarter, with the Vikings winning, 11.13 (79)-8.8 (56). Elsewhere, Deer Park upset Hoppers Crossing, Yarraville Seddon held off Point Cook, Spotswood beat Werribee Districts and St Albans smashed Sunshine.

Keilor has work to do in the Essendon District Football League premier division, after a big loss to Aberfeldie. In a top of the table clash, the Blues trailed all day in the 20.20 (140)-15.7 (97) win. Todd Stevenson was the Blues best. The loss sees the Blues slip to third on the table and are just two points clear of fifth placed East Keilor. In division 1, Hillside upset Rupertswood, 18.10 (118)-8.9 (57).
