Keilor Downs Commonwealth Bank joined forces with other branches across the country to raise funds for The Clown Doctors.
The national Clown Doctors program is delivered by The Humour Foundation, and provides highly trained, professional ‘medical clowns’ to help uplift sick kids by delivering a dose of laughter throughout hospitals.
A local fundraiser was held on Friday, June 10, and Commonwealth Bank branch manager Lee Bouakeo, said she was “very thankful” for everyone who contributed.
“We know that Clown Doctors have big shoes to fill every day which is why we’re proud of our 20 year history of supporting the work they do to help sick kids and their families,” she said.
“Our fundraising efforts for Clown Doctors is something we love doing as a team and encourage as many in the community as able to donate to this worthy cause.”
The Humour Foundation chief executive Tony Warner said the funds would allow The Clown Doctors to “bring the magic” to sick kids in hospitals.
“No child or family wants to spend time in hospital away from home, despite receiving brilliant care from medical professionals,” he said.
Thankfully, the Clown Doctors provide distraction, magical play and humour to families when they need it most – spreading laughter and joy at a difficult time.”
In 2020/2021, 65 Clown Doctors delivered fun and laughter to over 159,000 kids, families and hospital staff across Australia.
