All lanes reopen on West Gate Freeway

Motorists intending to travel on the West Gate Bridge were urged to seek an alternative route after West Gate tunnel works went overtime this morning.

As of 9:30, all lanes reopened although Vic Traffic says delays will take some time to ease.

The West Gate Freeway was down to one lane inbound at Williamstown Road during the morning peak.

Vic Traffic advised motorists to consider using Geelong Road or Ballarat Road instead, or taking a Werribee or Williamstown line train.

One traveller posted online saying it took her two hours to get from Sunshine Station to Newport travelling along the freeway.
