Three people transported to hospital after six-vehicle collision on Western Freeway

A person who was trapped inside their car following a six-vehicle collision on the Western Freeway this morning has been freed and transported to hospital.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews were called to the scene of the crash on the Deer Park Bypass in Derrimut at 10.50am, where firefighters then worked to free the trapped individual.

Victoria Police closed outbound traffic on the road, while FRV and Ambulance Victoria personnel provided assistance at the scene.

The person was freed an hour later and transported to hospital.

A total of three people were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital following the crash.

Ambulance Victoria advised two men, aged in their 50s and 70s, are in stable condition while the condition of the third person is unknown.
