Police have confirmed that human remains found near Dargo in November 2021 are that of Rusell Hill and Carol Clay.
In a statement, police said the coroner had carried out forensic testing on the remains which were found during their search for the pair.
Police said they would be making no further comment about the remains as the matter is before court.
A Caroline Springs man was charged with Mr Hill and Ms Clay’s murder last November.
The pair were last heard from on March 20, 2020, when they were camping in the Wonnangatta Valley.
