Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly slashed with a machete in Sunshine on Tuesday, February 1.
Investigators have been told the 20-year-old victim was walking along Burke Street about 12.20am when he was approached by 10 males.
One of the group asked the victim, a Kealba man, for his name and when he responded it is alleged the group attacked him.
During the attack a machete was used, and the victim sustained a slash wound to his back.
The offenders then fled the scene and were last seen running down Suffolk Street.
