The Western Jets started their NAB League Girls campaign on Saturday with a loss in Tasmania against Tasmania.
The Devils were quick out of the blocks, with four first quarter goals. The Jets got on the board in the second quarter, but the margin was extended to five goals at the main break.
The Devils continued to push the momentum in the third quarter to extend the margin. The Jets showed some fight and were able to win the final quarter.
The Devils won 10.5 (65)-5.4 (34).
Caitilin Sargent was the key target up forward with the Jets kicking four goals.
Charlotte Baskaran got plenty of the ball, picking up 32 disposals. Stephanie Asciak had 18 possessions.
The Jets this week face the Northern Knights on Saturday.
The Knights lost to the Calder Cannons in their round two clash on Saturday.
Both teams were searching for their first win heading into the match at Highgate Reserve, and it was the Cannons who jumped out of the blocks with three first quarter goals.
The Knights responded with two goals to none in the second quarter to cut the margin to four points at the main break.
The Cannons had the scoring end in the third quarter and were able to kick two goals despite the constant pressure from the Knights backline to bring the margin out to three goals at the last change.
Despite a late surge by the Knights, the Cannons were able to get the win, 6.2 (38)-4.4 (28).
Co-captain Olivia Manfre kicked two goals for the Cannons along with having 21 disposals.
Fellow co-captain Reese Sutton had 22 possessions to lead the way for her side, with Tahlia Read and Abbey McDonald having 21 possessions each.
Isabella Parnell kicked two goals for the Knights, while Ava Jordan had 21 possessions, to follow up the 27 she had in round one.
The Cannons have a bye this week.
