Brimbank residents hitting the roads should expect major delays on the roads on Boxing Day and across the holiday period with lane closures on the Westgate Bridge.
Three outbound lanes will be closed from 9pm on December 26 until 6am on January 4 for maintenance works.
Inbound lanes towards the city will not be affected.
VicRoads advises drivers to plan and use alternative routes.
Footscray Road will be a key detour during this time.
Extra metropolitan public transport services will be operating.
VicRoads also advises drivers to look out for detour signs around the area and allow for extra travel time.
