Deer Park suffered a reality check in Bowls Victoria premier division weekend pennant on Saturday.
Hoping to go into the break on the back of another stronger performance, the Parkers were comprehensively beaten by Altona.
Aaron Teys’ rink was the only winning one for the Parkers, in the 93 (16)-62(2) loss.
Teys’ rink won 23-16, while Mark Casey’s rink suffered its first loss of the season losing 25-13.
Nathan Bush and James Pearce’s rinks also lost.
The loss leaves the Parkers sitting fourth heading into the break. There are only 15 points separating second and seventh.
Deer Park’s second side had a better day in division 2, section 1.
The Parkers won 84 (16)-72 (2) and sit third.
Keilor had a massive weekend in division 2, section 2, beating Buckley Park.
Keilor won all four rinks on the way to the 90 (18)-58 (0) win.
Mark Neicho’s rink had a day out, winning 23-8.
The win moves Keilor up to third, just three points behind second.
Competition resumes on January 15.
