Cougars lose top of the table clash

Kealba-Green Gully fell short in a top of the table clash in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association George Luscombe Shield on Saturday.

With top spot on the agenda, the Cougars were keen for a good performance against Darebin Chargers.

The Chargers made 5-241 from their 35 overs, to set the Cougars a big run chase.

It was all single wicket takers for the Cougars.

After losing a wicket without any runs on the board, the Cougars were able to steady.

They managed to get a number of partnerships, but were able to go on with any of them.

The Cougars fell short, finishing 8-213.

Aaron Amos top scored with 58.

The Cougars enter the Christmas break in third spot.

In the Vic Kyte Shield, Burnside Springs lost a thriller to ladder leaders Gladstone Park.

Gladstone Park made 6-281 from its 40 overs.

Mathew Sanders took three wickets for Burnside Springs.

The run chase would go down to the final over, with Burnside Springs falling five runs shot of victory, finishing 6-277.

Andrew Fraser top scored with 83 not out.

Burnside Springs sits fifth at the break.
