No one will go without a hot meal or a gift on Christmas Day in St Albans if Paradise 4 Kids has its way.

P4K is hosting a special Christmas lunch at the Tin Shed to provide meals to those who would otherwise spend Christmas alone.

P4K is a voluntary organisation that has a number of people come together to make a positive difference to those who may never have the opportunity otherwise.

The group has been providing hot meals to the people of St Albans on Tuesday nights since July.

Director Jane Pallot said she loved Christmas and wanted to share that with others in the community.

She said they wanted to make sure that everyone has a special Christmas and doesn’t miss out.

“It will be a special Christmas lunch with all the trimmings,” she said. “We want to do something special.

“Santa is coming and there will be gifts for everyone who’s there. There will be Christmas music and containers for people to take home food.”

Watergardens and some of their shops have come on board providing P4K with $1000 Woolworths gift voucher, a number of presents of adults and children and a Christmas tree for the day.

Ms Pallot said many of the people they expected to see on Christmas Day, had been regular clients at their food van.

She said not only loved the food, but the company that came with the meals.

“They are all really excited about the food van and they love the food,” she said.

“They say we are the best soup kitchen in Melbourne.

“We ask them what they would like us to cook. They really look forward to it and get excited and send us messages asking what we are cooking.”

Ms Pallot said anyone who wanted to come down and volunteer on Christmas Day was more than welcome.

“We want to celebrate with them and make a big deal about it.”

The lunch starts at 12pm on December 25 at the Tin Shed.
