Keilor Park opened its account with back-to-back wins on the weekend in Victorian Turf Cricket Association division 2.
It was a big weekend in the context of the season, with sides playing their round five clashes, along with rescheduled round one matches.
For Keilor Park, it was able to come away with victories against the Greenvale Kangaroos and West Newport.
On Saturday, the Deviles made 5-174 from their overs with Dean Gila top scoring with 64.
The Devils then had the Kangaroos in trouble at 4-49.
The run rate continued to grow, with the Devils able to restrict the Kangaroos to 8-143.
The wickets were shared around with five players taking wickets.
There wasn’t long to celebrate for the Devils, who faced West Newport the following day.
The Devils made 8-178 from their overs with Abhiram Thambi top scoring with 47 at the top of the order.
West Newport was then bowled out for 131 in the 39th over.
Thambi and Joe Carland took three wickets apiece for the Devils.
The results move the Devils up to sixth on the ladder.
Sydenham Park also continued its good form, claiming wins in both its matches.
On Saturday the Storm defeated St Andrews Pascoe Vale.
St Andrews made 9-166. Shehan De Silva took 4-14 off eight overs.
The Storm had a scare in the run chase after looking on top for most of it.
After cruising to 0-151, the Storm lost four quick wickets.
They were able to hit the winning runs with two balls remaining, finishing 4-167.
On Sunday, the Storm was too good for Kingsville.
Kingsville were bowled out for 156 with four balls remaining.
Ben Green took 4-29 for the Storm.
It was a well timed run chase for the Storm, who finished 4-158 with five overs remaining.
Green backed up his performance with the ball, finishing with 53.
In the senior division, it was a mixed weekend for Keilor.
The Blues lost to the Druids on Saturday, but were able to claim the points against Sunshine United the next day.
Sunshine United suffered two losses, as did St Albans.
In division 1, Deer Park continued its good start to the season with victories against West Coburg and Altona North.
Deer Park sits atop the ladder and if not for being docked points for playing an ineligible player would be undefeated.
Sunshine split its two matches.
