Christmas is the time for giving in Brimbank.
Brimbank council’s annual Giving Tree Program returns this year to help those in the community have an easier Christmas.
The program provides an opportunity for community members to donate non-perishable goods which will be distributed by local agencies to people who need a helping hand this year.
This year people are being asked to drop off items directly to local charities in Brimbank.
Items that can be donated include tinned food, rice, vegetable oil, peanut butter, rolled oats, packet soups, tea or coffee and dishwashing liquid.
The program will run throughout November and December.
Brimbank mayor Jasmine Nguyen said the program was a great way to get behind a worthy cause and support our community.
“The donation program is one of the ways we’re helping the community give back at Christmas, especially as communities recover from the toughest times ever.
“Next time you’re out shopping, please consider dropping some items off at our local Brimbank charities and bring hope where it’s needed most in our community.
“Share the joy of giving and get behind Brimbank’s Giving Tree Program, and feel good about making a difference to those in need.”
