Dogs and their owners are set to make the most of a new dog park at Kevin Flint Memorial Reserve.
The off-leash dog park in Cairnlea, which caters for all dogs and has a range of interesting and challenging activities, was opened on Sunday.
The park was upgraded as part of the state government’s local parks program, with Brimbank council also contributing funds and managing the project.
The upgrades include a large run-about space with separate areas for small, old and shy dogs, natural rummaging areas, sand pit and dry creek for sensory play, agility equipment, new shelter, seating, and drinking fountain with dog bowl, double gated entries, dog waste dispensers and bins and new pathways and signage.
Brimbank Mayor Ranka Rasic said the council was excited to provide the local community with another green space with opportunities for recreational use for our residents and visitors.
“This fantastic updated park gives our furry friends a safe and secure space to run around and play with other pets.
“We’ve created an attractive and inviting place for dog lovers in our community to enjoy plenty of open space.
“Getting the proper amount of exercise is important for our pet’s health and happiness, and spending time in this new space is proving very popular with dogs and their owners.”
