Children across Brimbank embraced Book Week last week, dressing up as their favourite literary characters.
Pupils from Albion North Primary School and Cairnlea Park Primary School were among those to dress up.
Cairnlea Park’s Natalie Roach said book week was an annual event at the school.
“Obviously COVID-19 lockdowns have impacted the way we can celebrate book week but we have decided to still run activities to celebrate the day,” she said.
“Students have been given the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character from a book or something from this year’s theme of Old Worlds, New Worlds and Other Worlds, they can come to their daily online class dressed up ready to see all their friends dressed up too.
“We have organised for librarian Jennifer Brus from Brimbank Library to read to some of our students online and we have also organised other activities for the students to do during the day that centre around book week.”
Albion North’s Rebecca Ilijvski said her school had ran a number of different activities on Friday.
She said the day was about having fun, with student engagement dropping off in the last couple of weeks.
The pupils had a drawing class using YouTube videos and ArtHub4Kids (YouTube channel), watching a movie in their PJs, reading books and played Kahoot, an online trivia game.
