There will be plenty of excited shoppers this week as the new Watergardens Kmart store opens.

Shoppers have been eagerly waiting for the store to open, following the announcement that the existing Target store would be changed into a Kmart.

The Target store closed earlier this month, with works on transforming the shop into a Kmart starting last week.

Kmart Australia and New Zealand retail director John Gualtieri confirmed that the store would be open this week.

“We’re committed to opening stores in new communities,” he said.

“To giving families easy access to the everyday items they need and to making shopping more accessible for more people.

“In fact, that’s at the heart of everything we do here at Kmart.

“We can’t wait to officially welcome customers through our doors on May 20 from 8am. Our colourful new Watergardens store will be stocked full of great value, on-trend products that we know our customers are going to absolutely love.”

The Caroline Springs store is scheduled to be transformed from a Target to a Kmart later this year.
