Spare change goes a long way for Redkite

A dollar here, a five-dollar note there – staff at Coles Taylors Hill know a little bit of money can go a long way.

The store has raised more than $16,000 for Redkite, a national charity providing financial, emotional and practical support to children and young people with cancer and their families.

Now it’s been named one of Australia’s top 20 fundraising Coles stores.

Coles Taylors Hill employee Robyn Mulders led the charge during the fundraiser, which included a series of barbecues and raffles and the sale of Redkite fundraising cards.

Store manager Tony Baldassarro said staff were thrilled by the generosity of their customers.

He said the store had recently also raised $1700 in a single day for cancer support group Canteen’s national Bandanna Day.

“It’s something the team’s very proud of, and something we definitely want to continue to do.”
