Keilor Downs Secondary College has been forced to close for cleaning after a student tested positive for COVID-19.
A student from St Albans Secondary College and another from Taylors Lakes Secondary College are also now isolating after having close contact with the student.
Victorian chief health officer Brett Sutton said the two students attended a VET class with the Keilor Downs student on Tuesday and further contact tracing was being carried out.
He said any person who had contact with the student on the day would be asked to isolate.
“It will probably apply to all of the classes that student was in,” Professor Sutton said.
Member for St Albans Natalie Suleyman said she’d been advised no further action was required by the other schools.
“DHHS has advised there is no need for St Albans Secondary College to close or for staff or students to take any further precautionary action other than what has already been communicated to the broader Victorian community,” Ms Suleyman said.
“I know this is a difficult and stressful time, but keeping everybody safe is what’s most important.”
It comes just days after a staff member tested positive for the virus.
The Department of Health and Human Services said there are no links between the two cases and the staff member was not infectious when they last attended the school.
The school is set to re-open on Monday following a deep clean.
