The COVID-19 pandemic has presented a number of health concerns for people self-isolating and working from home and demand for physiotherapy services is more essential than ever.
Symmetry Physiotherapy group, the leading Allied Health provider in the western and north-western suburbs, has responded to the changing needs of clients throughout the health emergency.
Physiotherapist and director at Taylors Lakes Stephen Gosling says face-to-face consultations continue to provide new and existing clients with the highest level of care.
Staff have been following guidelines set by the Health and Australian Physiotherapy Association ensuring clinics remain safe to attend.
“A number of our clients have thanked us for remaining open and providing the care that they require to remain active or functioning at home,” Stephen says.
“Physiotherapy in the community is vital in the current environment to reduce the strain on the public healthcare system.
“By remaining open and consulting with clients we are able to accurately assess client’s injuries and provide safe and progressive treatment plans tailored to an individual’s needs.”
Symmetry physiotherapists are proficient in treating a range of injuries including neck and back pain, sporting injuries, headaches, pre and post operative rehabilitation.
“We are finding people are reporting more posture-related neck and back pain and headaches from a poor workstation set-up,” Stephen says. “In response to this, we have introduced new home workstation assessments to our services.
“In the current and ever-changing environment, our staff have been adaptable to the business demands but also those of our clients,” Stephen says. “We have the attitude that there is always some way we can help each other.”
“I love our team environment and I know it is felt through our community.
“Over time our client-focused care has built a level of trust in the community and it is rewarding to know that this is appreciated when a client is referred to you from a family member or friend.”
