Teens arrested after gym thefts

Police have charged two teenagers following a number of alleged thefts and vehicle thefts from gymnasiums in the west last month.

The alleged offences occurred at fitness centres in Deer Park and Tarneit on February 23.

A 14-year-old Manor Lakes boy is facing five charges of burglary, seven charges of theft, five charges of theft of a motor vehicle and five changes of committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s’ court at a later date.

A 15-year-old St Albans boy is facing five charges of burglary, five charges of theft, five charges of theft of a motor vehicle and five changes of committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s court today (March 6).
