Caroline Springs tradesman claims $659,000 TattsLotto win

A Caroline Springs tradesman said he was knees deep in a fish pond this morning when he discovered he’d won a division one TattsLotto prize worth more than $659,000.

The happy winner held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3999, drawn Saturday 16 November 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $659,502.54.

As well as holding one of six division one tickets, the lucky man also claimed a division six win, bolstering his total prize to $659,515.09.

The man said he found out about the win under unusual circumstances.

“I was standing knees deep in water when I felt my phone ringing in my pocket,” he said.

“I couldn’t reach it at the time but once I could grab it, I checked my phone and saw I had missed calls and an email from Tatts.

“When I read the email and saw that I had won I couldn’t believe it. I had to get out of the fish pond and sit on the grass.”

The man immediately called his mother and best friend who insisted he call officials to confirm it wasn’t a hoax.

When asked how he planned to enjoy the windfall, he said the win would help him realise his dream of becoming his own boss.

“The first thing I’ll do is pay the house off

“I’ve been working like a dog for years and I’m tired and sore.

“I’ve been thinking it has been time for a new career path, so I can do something that isn’t so hard on my body and work for myself.

“I think a holiday is a good idea too. I’ll be taking some time off at Christmas to help me plan what I’ll do next year.”

However there was one thing he has to do first.

“Now that the win is confirmed I will definitely do something to properly celebrate the win, but first I’ve got to finish cleaning the fish pond.”
