Sleepless night for lotto winner

A man who won nearly $400,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw said his family would come first.

The man, who purchased his winning ticket from Watergardens’ Lotto Luck Kiosk, held one of the ten division one-winning entries nationally in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.

Each entry took home a division one prize of $382,311.53.

The man said he had to check his ticket a number of times to make sure the life-changing news was true.

“I’d already gone to bed for the night on Saturday night, but I got up to grab a glass of water and that’s when I checked my ticket,” he said.

“I couldn’t believe it, so I woke my wife up and I can’t tell you how many times we checked it to make sure it was real.

“We kept checking it and checking it, but when we kept getting the same result it finally sunk in that we were winners.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the man said his family would come first.

“We’ll certainly help set the kids up for the future by being able to get them a new car and some money towards a house deposit,” he said.

“It will also be a relief to be debt free. We haven’t really thought too much about where we will go just yet, but we’ll look into going on a holiday.”
