Victoria Police are investigating after a woman claimed she found a needle hidden inside a grape purchased at Aldi in Caroline Springs.
The woman, who shared a photo of the needle, said she purchased grapes on Sunday and had reported the matter to police and the store.
“Please check all your grapes before eating, especially if… giving them to your kids,” she said.
Police have previously warned anyone caught contaminating food could face up to 10 years in jail.
An Aldi spokesperson said the store was working with police on the matter.
“Food tampering, involving the deliberate interference with food is a criminal offence and we work with authorities on all reported incidents.”
