Lovers of the Italian language will delight in an original performance called La Lettera by Taylors Lake Secondary College next week.
La Lettera – meaning “the letter” in Italian – tells the story of a love so strong that war, social class and distance can’t tear the lovers apart.
Seven year 7 students, who are studying Italian at school, will stage the 40-minute play, which was written and directed by their Italian teacher, Livia Fasulo.
“It’s a great way to showcase their talent in a second language and enable the community to be involved in the college’s extra-curricular programs,” Ms Fasulo said.
“I’m proud of my students for being courageous and performing in Italian. They bring the performance and language to life.”
The play is written in Italian, with an English introduction to assist non-Italian audience members with the storyline.
La Lettera will be staged on Monday, November 10, at 7pm, in the SPACE area of Taylors Lake Secondary College. Admission is $3.
