A cyclist has been killed in suspected hit-run in Taylors Lakes.
Emergency services swarmed the Melton Highway at McCubbin Drive in Taylors Lakes following the crash around 6.40am today.
The male cyclist, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
It is believed the driver did not stop but came forward to police about 7.30am.
A 20-year-old Avondale Heights man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
“Drivers are advised the Melton Highway is closed for west bound traffic at Kings Road,” police said in a statement.
“The investigation is ongoing and the Major Collision Investigation Unit is attending.”
