Bollmann storms Keilor Thunder home

Erin Bollmann produced a monumental performance to lead Keilor Thunder to a 97-61 win over Southern Peninsula Sharks in the penultimate round of the Big V basketball women’s state championship at Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday.

Bollmann, one of the star imports of the league, fell just shy of a triple double, finishing with 30 points, 21 rebounds and nine assists in one of the most dominant individual efforts of the season.

It was certainly not a one-woman show for Keilor. Ellen Kett was lethal from long range and her 19 points included four three-pointers to go with five rebounds and four assists.

Genna Anderson’s 16 points came from an efficient eight-from-nine shooting, while Aneta Bandilovski added 14.

A’Lexus Harrison delivered a well-rounded line with nine points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Third-placed Keilor will head into the final round clash with Casey Cavaliers at home on Saturday night with a chance of finishing in the top two.

A loss though will leave them susceptible to falling down a place.

In the men’s state championship, Keilor Thunder won both games on a busy penultimate round double slate.

The fifth-placed Thunder crushed Chelsea Gulls 92-63 at Bonbeach stadium on Saturday night.

Mike Anderson and Bradley Kellaher each scored 23 points for the Thunder.

Keilor backed up in a much tighter game with a 87-79 win over Casey Cavaliers at Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday. Anderson was the stand out in the win for the Cavs with 40 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

The playoff-bound Thunder will host McKinnon Cougars in the final round at home on Sunday.
