The Spring Hills Football Club turned pink on Sunday night.
Hosting its fifth annual Think Pink Foundation game day, the female sides ditched their regular uniform for pink attire, all in the name of raising funds to support women and men with breast cancer.
Spring Hills Football Club vice president Tom Markovski said it’s an event that has grown over the years.
“It started off when one of our committee members was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“We’d donated as part of the club previously, but from there it progressed into Think Pink Day.”
All money raised from the event goes to breast cancer charity Think Pink – an independent foundation that raises funds to provide free services to breast cancer patients and their families, assisting them with their cancer journey.
“We hold a sausage sizzle, rattle tins and at the end of the day there’s a fun match between the mums to raise a bit of money too.
“We try to raise about $10,000 for the cause but there’s a bit of an education element too.”
Money raised from the day provides services such as free unlimited counselling with breast care nurses, free accommodation for families from regional Victoria, professionally fitted free wigs and therapeutic massage and exercise classes.
