A 64-year-old woman was dragged along a road by a car during a terrifying bag-snatch attempt in Deer Park.
The woman was walking along Ballarat Road in Deer Park on the morning of January 8 when a green Ford hatchback began following her, police say.
Police said a passenger then grabbed the woman’s bag through the window and as she continued to hold onto the bag she was dragged along the road.
The accelerating car dragged her several metres down the road.
The woman eventually let go and the thieves fled with the handbag. The victim was left shaken and suffering grazes.
The car was last seen on Ballarat Road heading towards Caroline Springs.
