A Hillside beauty queen is hoping experience proves the difference as she vies to become Miss World Australia.
Zara Keca competed in the Miss World Australia preliminary final last month and won through to the state final.
Ms Keca also made it through to the national finals in 2017, and said her experience was helping her this time around.
“When I first competed, I had no idea what I was doing,” she said. “At the moment I’m training very hard. I’ve got a coach now and I’ve learnt a lot.
“I really want to be Miss World Australia and show what I have to give.”
Ms Keca said her sister had inspired her in her bid to make a difference in the world.
“I have a sister who has a disability,” she said. “I want to shed a bigger light on people with disabilities and showcase everything they have to give,” she said.
During her last foray into the competition, Ms Keca raised $5000 for children’s charity Variety – she is hoping to top that figure this year.
“It’s a charity that’s very dear to me. My sister has gone to a lot of events done by them,” she said. “I’m also planning to hold sporting boot camps and a charity dinner.”
