Staff, students and parents from Albion Primary School came together last week to celebrate cultural diversity.
The school held a series of events to mark Cultural Diversity Week, starting with a family picnic.
Students tested out their culinary skills on Wednsday with a pasta workshop in which they used pasta machines to create the popular Italian fare.
The following day, prep pupils entertained with a Pinocchio song before things got messy with a spaghetti-eating competition.
Students kicked the competition off by eating a bowl of spaghetti with no hands before the staff had their turn – using chopsticks.
Cultural Diversity Week is Victoria’s largest multicultural celebration, featuring a week-long program of festivals and events in metropolitan and regional areas.
It’s held annually in March to coincide with the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
