Summersault festival

There’s a great time to be had at the Summersault 2015 festival, with everything from market stalls to carnival rides, live entertainment – including Justice Crew and Johnny Rollins – and an epic fireworks finale. Jazz at the castle

Come and enjoy the Great Gatsby Picnic at Overnewton Castle on February 22 from 11am. The event will feature some of Melbourne’s finest jazz musicians. Pack a picnic or buy one on the day. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for kids. Adult price includes a glass of bubbly on arrival.

For pho fans

Tickets have gone on sale for Brimbank’s Sunshine Pho Fever 2015 highlight event. This year, the Pho Fever festival will be held across three nights – March 1-3, 6.30-9pm – as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. The festival takes place at Boba Tea, 233 Hampshire Road, Sunshine. Tickets are $45.

Southern Fiesta

Southern Cross Grammar will host a festival, dubbed Southern Fiesta, on Sunday, March 22, from 11am to 4pm. There will be carnival rides for all ages, market stalls, food vans, a toy and book trash and treasure market, craft stalls, a face painter, petting zoo and hands-on reptile zoo. There will also be a silent auction and live performances from local community groups.

Neighbourhood House gets busy

Community West Neighbourhood House is open Tuesday to Thursday each week from 9.30am to 4.30pm and offers a range of free courses, events and activities for all ages. Included are walking groups, a rhythm and rhyme playgroup, conversational English class, and ‘budget basics’ class. The centre is at 822 Ballarat Road, Deer Park.

Wellbeing clinic

Residents are invited to attend the Victoria University St Albans Health and Wellbeing clinic, a health centre that provides dermal, nutritional and osteopathic services, offered by senior students under the supervision of a fully qualified clinician. The clinic is open to the public during the academic year, and services are provided at heavily discounted rates. The initial consultation is free.

Mobile print service

The new mobile print service at Brimbank libraries means library users can print documents from any mobile device. Android, iPhone, laptop and tablet users can upload their documents to print at any library printer.

The Brimbank Bicycle Education Centre (formerly known as the Green Gully Traffic Safety Centre) at Keilor Downs has changed its name. The centre has just launched its website and Facebook Page in time for the new academic year. Have a look at the range of options for using the centre.
