GREENSBOROUGH: Crash leaves boy fighting for life

A nine-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Greensborough on Tuesday night.

The boy was hit while riding his bike on Plenty River Drive at about 8pm.

Leading Senior Constable Paul Turner said it appeared the boy had ridden onto the road in front of the oncoming car.

The 22-year-old male driver of the car was taken into police custody, but released pending further inquiries.

The boy was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital with serious head injuries.

He remained in a critical condition in the hospital on Wednesday morning.
